KCAL Members To Be Honored at AHCA/NCAL Quality Symposium

Congratulations to Vintage Park at Baldwin, Vintage Park at Paola, and Brandon Woods Assisted Living.  These three KCAL members will be recognized in New Orleans at the AHCA/NCAL Quality Symposium in February for their outstanding quality achievements.

The Quality Initiative Recognition Program is designed to recognize NCAL assisted living/residential care members that demonstrate the attainment and a commitment to one or more of the four NCAL Quality Initiative Goals:

·         Safely Reduce Hospital Readmissions by 15% *

·         Increase Staff Stability by maintaining nursing staff turnover below 30%

·         Increase Customer Satisfaction to 90%

·         Safely Reduce the Off-Label Use of Antipsychotics by 15% *

*Nationwide, publicly available data for hospital readmissions and antipsychotic medication use does not currently exist for assisted living/residential care providers.  The Patient Safety Organization (PSO) will collect information on these two goals, as well as other quality measures for assisted living communities that participate.  Commitment to safely reducing hospital readmissions and off-label use of antipsychotics for the NCAL Quality Initiative Recognition Program this year was achieved by member communities joining the National Patient Safety Organization for Assisted Living.

KHCA/KCAL is pleased to announce that 3 of our communities from Kansas have achieved and made a commitment to the Quality Initiative goals!
