Kansas Partnership to Improve Dementia Care in Nursing Homes Meeting- May 6, 2014, Hays, KS

The Kansas Partnership to Improve Dementia Care in Nursing Homes is hosting an informational meeting to discuss dementia care in western Kansas and north central Kansas.  Dr. James Rider will present on improving dementia care with minimal use of antipsychotics.

Also attending and available to discuss the surveyors view of dementia care will be Audrey Sunderraj, Carol Scheffelbein, and Sue Hines from Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services.

The meeting will focus on "best practice" in caring for elders with dementia.

The meeting will be held on May 6, 2014 from 10am to noon at Via Christi Villages of Hays, 2401 Canterbury Dr, Hays, KS 67601.  Following the meeting a light lunch will be provided during the question and answer session.

Please invite your Medical Director to attend with staff to gain information from the perspective of another physician and medical director, Dr. Rider.  Dr. Rider is also the current President of Kansas Medical Directors Association.
